Project Tapestry and the new Reeder made me realize there’s a significant overlap in the group of people I follow on Micro.blog, Mastodon, and BlueSky. Maybe I should do something about it.

I tried to add Micro.blog to the new Reeder, but it doesn’t show the timeline. Works for Mastodon and BlueSky.

@maique when I was living in SF, I actually used an app for that. No kidding - I needed the sound of rain so badly that I had to use an app.
@skoobz it reinforced something I learned from Project Tapestry: I follow the same subset of people on M.b, BlueSky, and Mastodon. With Reeder, it's even more evident because I also follow some of these folks' blogs via RSS.

@crossingthethreshold Do you live close to an Apple Store? Maybe it's worth visiting one and asking for a hardware test. I did this with my old MacBook Air (2011) before getting a new one (the battery decided it was time to retire...).
My current personal device is a 13-inch MacBook Air M1 (late 2020), and it works perfectly fine. I don’t code much on it (since I use a much more powerful work computer for that), but I don’t have any reason to replace it. Plus, I prefer its keyboard to the modern ones :-)
@Burk it's a really nice idea indeed. I checked to see if it was worth switching to this plan for my wife and me, but it turns out it's not. We both have the Proton Unlimited plan, which we subscribed to during a Black Friday sale many years ago (the plan had a different name back then). Every year, they still apply the same percentage discount when our plans are renewed.
@crossingthethreshold @maique to be very honest, the accent is easy to handle. The problem is the vocabulary; we use the same words for completely different things. It’s insanely fun.
@help my latest post isn’t showing up in the blog. Therefore it does appear in the RSS and doesn’t make the M.b timeline and other external services.
After years of successfully navigating the pandemic, COVID finally caught us.
I bought a filter for my X100V, but it was damaged during delivery/transportation. The retailer says they’re sending a new one, but now it won’t arrive until next week. I was hoping to use it this weekend; the delay is disappointing.

@help still getting the same error in the logs. It’s failing to fetch the feeds from otavio.cc. As result, posts don’t make the M.b timeline line and external places.
@help I, currently experiencing Feed: Unknown exception OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError. For this reasons my posts are not making the M.b timeline and are not getting cross posted.
I think I’m going to subscribe to the Sequel app. I just saw that one of the TV shows I watched recently and loved was canceled, and another show I thought was canceled is currently running a new season (it’s in the middle of the season!), and I had no idea.
@mattbirchler The Fediverse is like the European Union. And for nodes that don't know how to play along, there's Brexit.
@alexink Maybe it's some sort of cache that Micro.blog uses so that it doesn't have to rebuild the entire Hugo website every time something changes. When I faced this issue (some posts not showing in the archive), I resolved it by rebuilding the site via Account > Logging > Rebuilding the blog. If that doesn't help, I'd ask @manton to take a look at it.

The iPad Mini is my favorite iPad. I got my first Mini in 2013, and last year, I replaced my iPad Pro with a Mini. It’s the perfect device for consuming content. Today, I updated it to the iPadOS 18 Beta, and I’m glad I did. It seems pretty stable and is running extremely well on this hardware.

@maique after years of using Overcast since its launch, I moved to Apple Podcasts. I tried Airshow but didn't like the UX. Apple Podcasts isn't bad and has helped me discover several great podcasts. Oh, and it has transcriptions, which is a nice feature to have in a podcast app.
Even made a 1-year commitment by subscribing (paid subscription) to two podcasts there.
