I enjoy the stat emails Audible occasionally sends me. I should probably start to cycle in some harder non-fiction reads now that life is calming down. I tend to escape into easy sci-fi when I’m stressed out.

@hutaffe Yeah, the concept of the Fairphone sold me when my old phone, a Surface Duo 2, was on the fritz. Plus I don't mind non-polished tech when I know it's open source from a small team. Which probably means I'm a good candidate for using this phone 😆 I'll probably have a better sense of what annoys me in a couple of weeks. So far the only hiccup that I've really noticed is when I took a phone call while running the maps app it stopped navigating.

@heyloura
@rom I've used mobile banking for years. So far I've only needed to use the mobile app for check cashing (which I seldom do). Everything else can be done on the website. I just downloaded the app to test it out and everything looks fine 😄

I’m a few days in using my new Fairphone4 running the deGoogled e/os. I had no problem getting it to run on USMobile’s 5G. There are three pre-installed apps I’m not using, Mail, Tasks, and Calendar. It was also easy to install a couple of apps I needed. So far I find it charming 😄

@Skarjune I'll have to take a look at Service Model, I'm on the hunt for another book 😄. Kitty Cat Kill Sat had me laughing throughout. I found the cat protagonist pretty relatable and enjoyed how the author portrayed very human emotions during it. But not so much that it felt heavy or depressing.

@matthiasott I change up my website design somewhat often, but I come back to this iteration of

because it makes me smile which in turn makes me more likely to keep adding content to it.

@heyloura
@DaveyCraney Yeah the packaging was really nice and so far the phone is as easy to take apart as they say. Plus the deGoogled e/os is neat, I have everything I need installed and didn't need to sign into a Google account at all 😆

I got my new phone today. Now I need to resist filling it up with apps. I want to keep it under 24 (one screen) 😂

@joshuapsteele I hope everyone feels better soon and that you avoid it.

@mxbck @SaraSoueidan I've used the disappearing iframe trick a few times. Even built out a little hobby project (calendar + to-do list) as a proof of concept with it.

Finished Reading 2024: Kitty Cat Kill Sat by Argus 📚
This book was an enjoyable read. It was pretty slow in the middle which suited my frame of mind just fine.

I pulled out my old e-ink tablet and I’ve been having a lot of fun using it. I’ve even used it somewhat successfully as a monitor while coding on visual studio. Also, Lillihub isn’t half bad black and white. P. S. Applying screen protectors isn’t my strong suit 😂

This stuff fascinates me. I’m about a third of the way through the book nodding along in agreement. Some of what she writes matches my experience of being deficient at recognizing people, stereoblind, and no visual mind (aphantasia).

@sergio_101 Thanks :)
I did create my own micro.blog theme on top of the default template. Once you get used to Hugo, it's all just HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. My code is a mess (be warned) but it's up on github if you'd like a look.

@otaviocc My sister and I did the same thing. Jumping back and forth and watering all the flowers. 🌷We would also make huge rainbow flower fields. But I think that was like six restarts ago 😆

I restarted my animal crossing new horizons island a few days ago. This time I’m not going to unlock the terraforming tools. I feel like I have the best intentions with them, then it all becomes a mess until I’m so irritated that I delete my save file. 🏝️

@larissaking This is in reply to my last blog post. Micro.blog is having a little trouble with posting it 😆. So hopefully this one goes through:
Thank you. I really appreciate it. I'm also very hopeful my daughter can kick this into remission. This program at Boston Children's is wonderful. The space is fantastic and everyone cares so much. Every week they have a kid or two graduating that they do a quick ceremony for. Not a dry eye in the place.
They also have great outcomes. Using mindfulness, learning the role pain plays in the body, ample coping strategies, doctors, psychologists, lots and lots of PT, OT and art/music therapy. The paper I read had about 88% functional and pain-free at the 1 year mark, and about 35% reached that outcome at the 1 month mark after the program. Even those that weren't pain free typically had a marked reduction in pain and functionality gains. The long term 5+ year study still backs that up.
Also, thanks for the resource links you left on my last post. I did look into them 😊
I also read "When Your Child Hurts" by Rachael Coakley and I'm using lots of those strategies. Apparently a lot of things that parents do by default for acute pain is actually detrimental to chronic pain. So a learning curve there for sure.

It’s been just over two weeks since I updated 🐸 Lillihub. The analytics so far:
Which is good, since a few more people are using it. I’m keeping an eye on the free tier limits. Based on the logs, the CPU time per request limit was hit a few times. Probably large image uploads.
