@mikemai2awesome I mean, I didn’t hate it (I try to normalize my rating to three stars for average non-notable films). There was a lot going on that I liked, like the world building and the different creatures. But the resolution being a big fight-fight-fight several times in the movie was disappointing. It probably could have been a more engaging story.
@wrenman Good post. I think you always need both, but you get buy-in for the government action by individual action. For example, a lot of people here in Germany have installed solar panels on the balcony of their rental apartments, and now politics will make the process easier and allow you to use more power from those panels. When I’m walking through the neighborhood, every installed panel shows me that there are people who have a similar understanding of the climate crisis as I have and that is great. And that is why individual action is important.

@vincent Urgh. I know the feeling. I started doing 4 days of freelance work with a fixed client in the past couple of years and while it does not give me as much freedom as I would like, regular money in the bank is also an enormous contribution to one’s freedom. (As much as I hate that.)
For the laptop, have you looked into leasing one? I found that to be beneficial in spreading the cost around and have each month something to deduct from VAT, instead of doing the big purchase, spread the deduction it over 3–5 years thing that we need to do here in Germany. It is a little bit more pricy than buying it outright, but I can buy it out at the end of the lease and get a good resale value out of it.

@matt Because it is navigation, not an application menu. Menu roles are for application menus, links are for navigations. Mixing them does help no one. This is also basically what Marco says in his article.
@besenwagen It’s honesty one of the most common issues I see. So easy to explain and train people to do the right thing, but we just leave it to devs and their google skills.
