Blind from birth, I do what I can to help make the web an accessible place for all. Also, like everyone else, I'm just living my life, trying to make it the best life it can be.

You know what the most frustrating thing is ever? Going to cancel an annual subscription only to find that it just renewed. For another year. No warning or anything. Yeah WordPress, I’m looking at you. :(

@arush Very cool, I still have no idea how to do post types, but I could probably make IFTTT repost it here and via here, to Mastodon. Definitely have to break up the book reviews with something. :)

@arush OK, I have to ask: how are you posting workouts like that? I should figure it out, if only to give people a break from my incessant GoodReads updates. :)

@manton It's strange, as a blind guy, I didn't think I'd have much use for an iPad because screen size doesn't matter to me. That said, I love the split screen functionality and the ability to explore the screen by touch to get a conceptual understanding of layout, this has been huge for me. Not getting one of the new models, but love the iPad I have.

@manton Ah, I will have to check this out, especially as I think Backblaze raised their prices relatively recently. As luck has it, I'm up for renewal, so I better check it out quick. :)

@patrickrhone wow, this is fantastic. Congratulations. :-) I also really loved your comments about how your blog has changed. Focus over the years. I think that’s one of the reasons I hesitate to blog Moore, my focus is different, and I’ve been afraid to allow my block to change which is really kind of silly.

@manton That's a great idea. I tend to go off a daily focus list but when the day doesn't go as planned, I feel very unsuccessful even though I may have accomplish a lot. I like the idea of a weekly perspective.

@manton I don't think you'll be in the minority if you turn it off, I suspect most services will as users aren't going to want to pick up the cost. This reminds me of a few years ago when FaceBook stopped allowing cross-posting to individual timelines and restricted it to pages. I remember the up-set, ironically on Twitter, that tweets could no longer be cross-posted. I think in some ways it's unfortunate to not be able to cross-post, but it also forces people to actually be present on the networks they're using and that's not a bad thing. My WordPress blog cross-posts to LinkedIn and I just found a bunch of comments over there that I totally missed because I hardly ever use LinkedIn and frankly, I forgot I was cross-posting over there. So I think there's a slight chance people might be a little sad if Twitter cross-posting goes away, but especially in the Micro.blog community, I think people are understanding and will have no real issue with such a change.

@matthewlang Wow this is very cool, I wasn't familiar with their other apps. I'm also excited about their Triode app, that could be very handy for syncing Internet radio between devices.

@manton This is definitely very sad. Twitterrific was one of the first Twitter clients to really embrace accessibility, something they've continued to do throughout the years. Great folks, great software, it's a shame Twitter has become what it has. Here's hoping they direct their energies into something new: Mastorific perhaps? :)

@SimonWoods Funny you should mention this as I just opened Overcast for the first time in a while, totally confused now. Just not sure whether to put the energy into trying to figure it all out, or figuring out a different client. I'll probably stick with Overcast as I love the way it handles removing silences, but it's definitely frustrating.

@jean I love this. I've spent so much time learning, mastering, trying, re-learning, retrying, altering, and ultimately failing at GTD that I've sort of lost sight of the fact there are certainly other systems out there. I also love the idea of a keep-in-touch list, I too had one in OmniFocus, but I gave up on it when I sort of gave up on GTD.

@pimoore @Denny @marmanold As a blind guy, I couldn't agree more. Transpertation is often a challenge, even in urban areas as bus services and light rails experience budget cuts and reduced service. I was lucky to be an exchange student in Germany many years ago and I loved how public transportation was more the norm, would love to see that become more of a norm here.
