Went down to the ‘Rents lake house to celebrate my Father’s birthday, and of course, enjoyed some good wine. 🍷
My little brother took us out on the boat after the barbecue.
It really is beautiful down there, especially when most of the folks aren’t on the lake. 🤣 📷

With his recently launched Convene by Dan Kosta, he has shown that lightning can strike twice in the same place. A native of Sonoma County, Kosta grew up among vineyards and has had a lifelong affinity for Pinot Noir
I’m not a Pinot guy, but I might try to take a drive over to Sonoma and check Convene out soon.

Since I was travelling last time, this edition of my personal newsletter is a little full. Covers all the hits from the last two months: chopping up tuna in a back alley, baby sushi, and existential ennui. 🍷

Cabernet Sauvignon, often referred to as the “king” of Napa, exploded in popularity for the past few decades, as tastes began to favor intense, bold, tannic red wines. In general, Merlot tends to be a bit lighter-bodied than Cabernet, which is why the latter saw such wild success.
I think I’ll be sticking with my Cabs and GSMs, thank you very much.
