@odd I rely on cell service with my motorhome, so buffering is sometimes an issue for me in low cell areas.

The Micro.blog challenge word for day 30 is “hometown”. We travel full-time around the US in our motorhome, but once a year we return to our hometown of Shelton, Washington for a few weeks to do doctor, dentist, etc “adulting” checkups. 📷 #mbapr

@val that picture was from the customer lounge, that has windows overlooking the storage area. Our coach was in a service bay on the far side. Owners can go in there, though it’s discouraged for safety and security reasons.

@manton looking at my timeline on the Micro.blog website, my last post with a picture appearing was 2024-04-16 at 13:25. Minutes later at 13:37 was another post without its picture. So that gives you a pretty small window of when it started.

@DazeEnd been there. I found it kinda depressing. Not too surprising, perhaps.

@manton hope it’s more clear for you. I’m in Paris, Texas, and it’s socked in currently.

@dejus

@starrwulfe it’s fine. He’s indoor-only, so his house just happens to move. He’s not a fan of travel days, so we give him some medication to chill him out a bit on those days, so he’s not bothered by it.

@jean we really enjoyed that park; a nice drive, and the Grove of Titans was impressive. (Our visit.)

@dejus

@dejus How many of those places do you recognize? I bet there are a few stumpers. Let me know which ones you recognize, and which ones you’ve visited. See the end of the post for a full list.

@danielpunkass less complete release notes. It seemed truncated in the in-app updater.

@odd it’s tricky to get the coach dashcam footage and 360 footage to line up. I just use iMovie; it’s possible Final Cut Pro might make that easier, I don’t know.

Avatar

David Sinclair
@dejus

@odd it’s a 360 degree camera, mounted on the roof of the truck. I can change the viewing angle when editing the video.

@dwalbert @l3db3tt3r I have a blog at SinclairTrails.com for my motorhome travels, which is automatically cross-posted to Micro.blog @SinclairTrails, and manually cross-posted on this account.

@jean as you might imagine, I have a bit of experience with planning trips. I have a blog post about what I use, but I’d recommend Google Maps on desktop; I use that to plot each travel day. It can route up to 10 stops, and you can get a shareable link (that I save in my calendar).

Avatar

David Sinclair
@dejus

@Burk I use Kiva. Been doing it for a couple of years, I think. Add $10 each month, and can relend the money over and over.

@dejus

@restlesslens many do, but have to ask first.

Avatar

David Sinclair
@dejus

@restlesslens most commercial campgrounds will allow package delivery; that’s what we do most of the time. If a short stay, deliver to arrive just before or on arrival day. Other times we use Amazon Lockers, or General Delivery to post offices.

@dejus

@restlesslens totally accurate, unfortunately. But I still do most of my shopping there. Definitely not as pleasant as it used to be.
