I’m surprised many people want Oasis tickets. BBC Radio 4 seems to have been talking about it for days. I just don’t get it and wish I understood why peoplele want to go to see live music and live sports. I avoid both like the plague. crowds + noise = no thank you.

@mbkriegh I always wonder about this. I try to eat clean and organic, and putting little stickers on my food (I’m certain the glue is filled with chemicals that rival any pesticide) seems a bad idea.

It reminds me of the early days of the internet, alt. groups and AOL chat rooms which seemed to have robust and honest conversation

@mountainwitch Well said. I think I've been quietly checking out for the past few years... and honestly, I'm finding myself happier as a result. Oddly, friends and others are noticing and asking me "my secret." It's too complex to explain (and requires too much effort), but effectively the answer, as you say is shutting down the buying-industrial-complex, minding the environment, and dialing away from all the absurdity that doesn't matter and turning toward that which does.

The sun is finally beginning to peak out after two full days of rain. However, I did get a lot of mending done over the past couple of days!

@chrisaldrich Chris -- my typewriter saga continues. I ordered this really great little Hermes orange typewriter that didn't work when it arrived. It had been dropped during shipping. So, I ordered another one from a different seller in South America... when it arrived, the seller had put the wrong one in the box. So now, (hopefully, third time is a charm), I have a third on the way. I can't wait to bang out a message or two on it. I'll share when it arrives!
