@manton this has been my “brick wall” solution as well. There’s something fun though about expressing the question/prompt clearly which also helps isolate what isn’t happening the way I’d expect. That bit about iteration too… definitely a different weight to that part of crafting than previously.

@numericcitizen sitting with the same opinion… but (as others allude to), the iPad isn’t the same shape of device. I’m using the term contemplative computing to describe tablets and some use of software in the tools-for-thought space (versus consumption computing, productivity computing, mobile computing, and spatial computing). I’d argue, such a focus would be major help to both tech media, and Apple

@adamwiggins heh.. this was literally an issue I had last week… didn’t solve it (ran away to an AI expo and saw vendors who also wished they did a very common item). Weird how few “low-code” tools there are for this which aren’t a simple file comparison

@JohnPhilpin makes sense. And yep, most folks really don’t remember to consider that images are more than just seen… heck, even when we do use alt tags, that’s not always the consideration (speaking to self here)

@JohnPhilpin automatically? Personally, would make more sense to be prompted with then the option of using the auto-generated alt text. In this way, whatever model that’s implemented isn’t pushing its interpretation of your image forward. That extra step trains folks to add alt text themselves over time, and/or trains the model to be better about its suggestions.

@ton I think there’s a path for figuring that out with many of the LLM models/remixes out here now. Wrapping that into something which could stand the test of (software and hardware) time will be a thing to figure out. But, a personal repo, with a data model/transformer that only works on that local data store… yea that would be aces

Just like MB is the shape of doing things differently, am seeing all these different protocols and services as interpretations to “communities dominate brands” types of work. And it’s neat… loud in some spaces, beautiful in some spaces, but the morphing of connected spaces all the more
