How come a book weighs 1.1kg (38.9oz)? That’s insane. It is likely the 786 pages containing text plus four inexplicable blank sheets at the end. Anyway, I picked this one up secondhand because it’s out of print and there’s no e-book version I know of. I love reading on subways, trains, and planes, but, as... vladcampos.com

So does the entropy of your notes. It’s okay to not obsess over a perfect system, as it may be a waste of your time. Remember that you cannot predict everything, and variables are forever changing.

If you are an Evernote user, and you are finding yourself lost in the multitude of information you created, try AI-Powered Search. It might surprise you 😉

I'm sure you'll be investing a lot of time and energy into this, and when Threads fully joins the Fediverse, it will become a redundant feature. Is there something else I am not seeing?

@otaviocc Wow! I had the same one. When I got older, I disassembled it and was impressed on how basic it actually was 😆. The whole body is empty, with only a couple of wires to light the eyes. As for the electric motor and wheels in the feet, they were only capable of super-simple motion. Do you remember how it would only move straight when going forward? The only other option was the "reverse gear". By pressing a trigger on the remote, it would move back as a semi-arch. Remember? Nevertheless, before knowing all that, it felt so magical when I was a kid ♥️

@manton As far as I could understand from your explanation video, replying using Mastodon, doesn't add the reply to the person's account. Would it be technically possible to create something similar to the "Reply on Mastodon" plugin, but without the need to have cross-posting enabled?

Avatar

@vladcampos

@thomasrost I did the same a while ago. You can easily move your followers, but that's no way to use a Mastodon-compatible app with your Micro.blog account. Your choices are the official app and the alternatives created by the community.

You have to also keep in mind that there are many features @manton choose not to add to Micro.blog, like re-posts, likes, visible number of followers and others.

I still miss some of these engagement features and metrics, and I hope Manton rethinks his approach to them in the future. That said, I do like the fact that I have a single identity.

@joshsam My mom had boxes, then she moved to albums with plastic pockets. My father, however, was obsessed with slide projecting. He had a carousel for each trip, and looking at pictures was always fun, similar to going to the movies. It would be wonderful to buy a vintage projector and revisit those moments, but no one knows what happened to the carousels.

I also had experience with printed photography for a good number of years and kept everything in albums with plastic pockets, like my mom. But similar to what happened to my father's slides, I don't know where most of my albums are. How is it that these physical things seem to simply despair and nobody notices it happening? Anyway, maybe that's why I'm so obsessed with backing up my digital pictures.
