I am finishing the work week with a 33-minute recovery run around our little town. Itโ€™s time to enjoy the weekend ahead; tomorrow is a planned rest day, and I planned a long run for Sunday. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธโ€โžก๏ธ

I went out tonight after work to complete an 8k tempo run within a 12k overall run. This was a challenging and fun run. On the one hand, after a period of not enjoying the process, I am actually generally enjoying the process of training for the marathon. On the other hand, Iโ€™d be lying if I didnโ€™t admit that Iโ€™m looking forward to drinking for a week or two straight once Iโ€™m past the finish line. ๐Ÿƒ

Going for consistent running means you sometimes get wet due to rain. As I was already out, this rain was comfortable for a change. This run was a 32 minute recovery run at a pace of 5:40 and in the low aerobic heart zone. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธโ€โžก๏ธ

On the one hand I donโ€™t think weโ€™re done with the hot weather quite yet; on the other, going out for todayโ€™s morning run and having it feel honestly kind of chilly at the start was a whole vibe. ๐Ÿƒ

The local running organization had a Runway Run at the Waterloo Airport so I had to sign up (along with the local chapter of the 99s). Weird being on the runway without being in a plane but I did my best ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

My mid-week semi-long run is up to 8 miles now. Kinda funny thinking about how 8 miles once upon a time seemed like an impossibly long weekend distance. Now I do that on Tuesday and then go to work all day. ๐Ÿƒ

Next week, I need to figure out how to plan my runs around my work schedule, as I will be traveling again for work, this time to Latin America.

This run was a long recovery run at 6:50 per kilometer. According to my schedule, I should have run 16 kilometers today. Based on my health metrics, I decided to go a little shorter. Iโ€™m not sleeping well yet due to the time zone adjustment. That should improve tonight or tomorrow night. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธโ€โžก๏ธ
