July 24, 2018 - I am that guy when you see a dear friend at the store and insist on taking a photo with their sons. I am so sorry, but also not.

July 23, 2012 - We’d vote blue as the sky that autumn in my home state of Ohio. Now I’m 52 and still live here. Got a boyfriend, a cat and tons of friends with daughters. We all prefer smaller government that stays out of our bedrooms, libraries and doctor’s offices. I understand the assignment.

July 22, 2009 - Outtake of the Dessners and Deals from a series to promote The Long Count, a 70-minute music and multimedia piece that debuted at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. (We’d rush the bench out to get takes between traffic.)

July 21, 2013 - After years of planning, 5 Points Alley opens up to the community of Walnut Hills. To commemorate the occasion a new brewery called Rhinegeist tapped some kegs.

July 20, 2016 - Mural of Rosemary Clooney (designed by Natalie Lanese for Artworks) getting painted in Over-The-Rhine. (Now obscured by a mixed use development, but an empty lot in city shouldn’t last forever.)

July 19, 2007 - I was attempting to capture a Duel moment (great first movie by Steven Spielberg) and ended up catching a runner.

July 17, 2008 - We started with t-shirts but explored other ideas at Wire & Twine. One notion was to find neat old objects, make photographs and sell prints. We abandoned the concept but were left with some lovely artifacts.

July 14, 2015 - Getting ready to watch the movie ‘Spy’ with Joe and Casey. I’m not a huge proponent of sequels but I’d super enjoy seeing Melissa McCarthy revisit more undercover CIA characters.

July 10, 2005 - I recently just took a photo of this same spot in Northside. The vodka mural and all that ivy have been removed. There are two gay bars in view, sadly gone. But the block has evolved with new life, new places and new art.

July 7, 2012 - Potluck with a group of folks from Milton’s Tavern. Most all the photos from this afternoon were blurry, but this flag emerged relatively intact.

July 5, 2013 - Holding a portrait of Michael Jackson, part of a memorial at the gates of Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara County, California. I would lose my iPhone here (but didn’t forget my camera).

@martyday I wish I didn't, but I super dig Caffeine Free Coke Zero. Caffeine makes me jittery and I think this tastes better than Regular Coke. It's fizzy and pairs well with feeling beleaguered.

@odd I don't know the details of the deal, but keeping the chimney a requirement for historic funds makes sense. I do know they had to keep the original windows and upgrade them, which was a significant cost as new windows would have been much more efficient in every way.

@odd The factory used to make machines for tin can factories. I'm not sure why they left the chimney when redeveloped into loft apartments. The chimney was starting to lose a few bricks about 5 years ago and they took the time to stabilize it in lieu of removing it entirely. A bit more information here: American Can Company Building
