@swope @ZeKik @dan @davidzipper I can tell you from personal experience that it is. Maybe not for compact SUVs (CUVs) but trucks and large SUVs cost more to insure than smaller cars.
@swope @ZeKik @dan @davidzipper Yea, and people who drive larger or generally more unsafe cars pay more in insurance premiums to cover for any issues they may cause if they wreck.
@swope @ZeKik @dan @davidzipper Its because the larger cars are perfectly legal for anyone to buy and own. Wrongful death has been argued successfully in the cases of modified vehicles (car and truck alike).

@Basmitharts Ya. Most of the damage is to the plastic bumper cover, except for a crease on the fender there. No paint damage on the metal, so I'm hopeful PDR can take care of that.
Bumper cover will be easy to replace, considering I've had it off at least 5-6 times over the years.
My wife got into her first ever crash yesterday - made it over 20 years driving without crashing. Considering I got into my at-fault first crash about 3 months after getting my license, I'd say that's pretty good.
Unfortunately, she did it in my truck and not her car. 😂
City changed a roundabout from 1-lane turns and 1-lane through to 1-lane turns 2-lanes through and neither my wife, or the other driver, realized and they met in the middle.

The teeth are “fine” but a bit chowdered up from some rust. You can see some pitting in the pic. Thankfully the bearings are fine enough for now and the extra thick goop will help take up slack, but it’ll have to be gone through sooner or later.
Here’s how the axle bearings looked.

Tho I think it’s an old repair - spins fine and free and there wasn’t any damage on the pinion, which is cool. The rust on the gears from sitting in water for a few years is another story tho…

Has anyone with an old car that has oxidized single stage paint use any sort of clear coat or similar?
Not looking to repaint my truck, but want to slightly protect what paint is still there so it doesn't just become a total rust bucket.
I've used VGG's 'shine juice' (50/50ish mineral spirits and linseed oil) before and it looked good, but it didn't last very long and it seemed to soak up dirt and dust something fierce.
Regular wax does nothing.
Any thoughts?

I’m in the process of rewireing my old truck, and for the first time in 2+ years, the original key works as it ought to. Headlights, front turn signals and front running lights are all working correctly, too. I can’t even begin to describe the joy I had when the truck started off the key and all of the lights worked first time.
I hate wiring, but damn is it satisfying.
