@chrisaldrich I just purchased the paperback version myself. Should be here tomorrow. I've always thought Bob does a great job explaining this stuff.

I'm not saying I want this. I disabled it. I noticed it when I was changing some of my other mouse settings on my new desktop.

@humdrum Overall, I'm pretty happy with Proton services. Proton Pass is not quite as good as 1Password. The autofill in particular. It also lacks some item types that 1Password supports. But, they're iterating quickly.

I was jumping between Fastmail and iCloud + for email. Moved to Proton. Proton email works great. It's not as fast as Fastmail, but the UI is clean and simple. No issues. Works with custom domains.

Drive and VPN are a bonus.

Anyone have suggestions for affordable laptops that would be great for running Linux? I only need it for browsing and light web development.

I want a great keyboard more than anything as I plan to do a lot of writing on it.

@lostinhaste I was able to install Ubuntu on my Surface Laptop. Unfortunately, the resolution of the Surface Laptop is awkward and doesn’t play well with Linux.

I’ll need to find another option so I fix the display so I can test better.

@numericcitizen Please update to 1.9.7 (should be available within the hour) and let me know if that resolves the issue. I did this from my phone, so hopefully, I got it right this time.

@numericcitizen did you update the theme to 1.9.6 in your Micro.blog account?

If it still doesn’t work, I’ll take a look soon. It may take a couple days as I’m on vacation this week.

@warner @gregmorris the Cards Theme for Micro.blog now has Greg's Search Partial plugin support built-in. Anyone using the Cards Theme simply needs to install the Search Partial plugin, and it will automatically appear on the Archive and Category pages of your site.

@mandaris It was fun to watch. It doesn’t take itself to seriously, which i think helped make it more enjoyable since much if it is over the top.

@rscottjones I have used PARA and it’s my default folder structure. I like how it separates content by how “actionable” it is.

I don’t spend much effort organizing notes and files anymore, but the 4 PARA folders are just enough to give a little structure.

@jacks Yes. Reeder 5 is very similar to ReadKit. I’ve been jumping between them trying to decide which I like better.

@humdrum what is it about Obsidian that makes you want to switch? I’m having a hard time leaving Obsidian because of local files, speed, and flexibility. But I don’t like organizing in the file system and other annoyances.

@manton When I started the post from the iOS app it defaulted to my essays blog. I added the photo before I noticed, then I switched to my main blog before I posted. It seems the photo was uploaded to my essays blog and the post sent to my main blog.

I deleted my essays blog just now because it wasn’t being used and fixed the photo manually.

DNS wasn't pointing to my essays blog because i wasnt using it.

@help I'm seeing this error in my logs, and it pops up in my account now and then. I tried to rebuild my account, but then my site disappeared altogether. It couldn't build my site. I disabled the Newsletter feature and then rebuilt my blog, and my site came back. I enabled Newsletters again, and I'm getting this error once more.

Error: error building site: assemble: "content/newsletters/2998.md:1:1": period in shortcode name only allowed for inline identifiers
